Last Sunday before we could relax and enjoy some St. Patrick’s Day fare we agreed to gather as a trio to video record some of our favorite tunes! I’d like to let you in on what one of these Sunday morning projects entail. Number one: coffee and a good breakfast. Number two: a certain level of beauty that a girl must achieve before getting in front of the camera. Number three: a vacant performance space like Meng Hall at Cal State Fullerton. Meng Hall feels like home to me because it is a mini-version of the concert hall I spent many, many hours in while living in Denton, Texas and playing in the North Texas Wind Symphony.

UNT's Winspear Hall

Mr. Armadillo

The UNT hall is called Winspear Hall and from the outside it looks like an armadillo!

Now Meng Hall has a different shape on the outside, but inside the stage looks almost identical to Winspear, which it was modeled after.

We are lucky to have access to this great performance space in our neighborhood. The acoustics are really brilliant. The fun part is making music with friends and working our butts off to keep our energy up during a two hour playing session. It’s amazing how picky you become when you know what you just did is going to be broadcast all over the internet. I hope our videos are inspiring to students and enjoyable to our fans. You’ll be able to see them in the next couple of weeks. So stay tuned to our Facebook page for the latest update. I have to say that after that much playing Rebecca and I immediately headed to the bar to enjoy some Guiness and corned-beef sliders. They were well deserved by that point!
