Greetings from Salzburg, Austria! This week Eugene and I visited the home and birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The apartment the Mozart’s lived in was quite spacious for the time. There were many artifacts on display: letters to his wife from the road,¬† manuscripts, paintings of him and his wife, and the original clavichord that he composed on. It was much smaller than the modern piano, with only four octaves. The apartment is a popular tourist destination! The theme of Mozart and classical music is prominent throughout the city. The city is pedestrian friendly and nestled into the hill. We frequently came across¬† painters and street musicians out on the plaza entertaining shoppers passing by.

I really fell in love with the city and the romantic European sunsets. We had a lovely dinner at Hohensalzburg Fortress where we could see the valley below.

Of course a sampling of desserts finished off the trip!
