Everyone needs a hobby. It’s what helps you unwind from a long work day, gets your mind off the stress of the week, and gives you a chance to do something purely for fun.

My hobby is baking, and while it’s something that I do for fun, I definitely take it seriously! I absolutely adore the Momofuku Milk Bar cookbook by Christina Tosi. Her recipes are so unique and inventive. While they are complex recipes and often take several steps to complete, the flavors are really familiar and almost nostalgic.

In order to bake these recipes, I have had to stock up on quite a few unusual ingredients like glucose and clear vanilla.

All ingredients have to be weighed to ensure the utmost accuracy.

With my hectic schedule, it’s hard to find time to bake, so sometimes I have to complete the recipes in stages over a few days.

Cookie dough, all ready to be dropped onto cookie sheets and baked.

This week, I’m making some Confetti cookies. Here are a few of my test subjects, fresh from the oven — want a taste?
