Greetings from Salzburg, Austria! This week Eugene and I visited the home and birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The apartment the Mozart’s lived in was quite spacious for the time. There were many artifacts on display: letters to his wife from the road,  manuscripts, paintings of him and his wife, and the original clavichord that he composed on. It was much smaller than the modern piano, with only four octaves. The apartment is a popular tourist destination! The theme of Mozart and classical music is prominent throughout the city. The city is pedestrian friendly and nestled into the hill. We frequently came across  painters and street musicians out on the plaza entertaining shoppers passing by.

I really fell in love with the city and the romantic European sunsets. We had a lovely dinner at Hohensalzburg Fortress where we could see the valley below.

Of course a sampling of desserts finished off the trip!
