Third Wheel is back! On the blog, that is. We all had busy summers and were out there like the good little worker bees we are, performing all over Southern California. In addition to all the playing that we do together as Third Wheel, the three of us are usually involved in all kinds of projects on our own as well. Rich played some wonderful shows this summer at the Hollywood Fringe Festival as part of Lost Moon Radio, and that was a smashing success. I was over in Culver City, working on one of the most original pieces of musical theater/opera that I have ever seen: Songs and Dances of Imaginary Lands. And Karin is gearing up to teach a huge studio of flutes over at Mt. San Antonio College.

Rich is rockin out

Rich is all ready to go at the Pacific Symphony concert, super-cool shades and all.

But as a group, we’re staying busy too! We had a fun concert over at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, where our good friend and colleague Anthony Parnther joined us as a guest artist. Then we ended the summer with some pre-concert music for the Pacific Symphony down at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. The concert that night featured the fabulous group Time for Three, and we were so inspired to watch another trio perform in such a cool venue.

So what’s next? Well, we can’t reveal too much just yet, but we have so many great ideas and plans in the works. Expect to see some news soon that involves the New York Women Composers, and I also wouldn’t be surprised to hear about something involving our friends over at Fancifull … stay tuned!!
